How projects are picked

Every project is credited to its creator, with a link to their profile. Creators can ask for changes or removal anytime.

1. Trending lists first. We take a snapshot of GitHub’s weekly trending list and Hugging Face’s trending models and apps. The current snapshot was taken on 25 September 2026 and holds 75 projects you see under “Rising this week”, “Start here” and the story sections.
2. Then an editor translates. A person writes the plain-language copy — what each project does, a few things you could use it for, what you’d need — from what the creator published. They also pick a handful to show first, and hand-pick a few more to add between snapshots — most recently 17 projects on 25 September 2026.
3. Numbers are frozen in time. Stars, likes and downloads are the ones recorded when each project was checked. They are not refreshed live, and each card says when they were taken.

BuildTube has not run or verified these projects. Everything on a card is written from what its creator published. A “Try it” button opens the creator’s own demo on their site; treat it like any other link to someone else’s work.

What the labels mean

New

Added by a BuildTube editor after the snapshot (most recently on 25 September 2026), and checked by hand that day.

Rising

“One of the fastest-rising” marks the projects that gained the most attention during the snapshot week: new stars on GitHub, or likes and downloads on Hugging Face. “Rising this week” is the section holding everything else that was trending.

Emerging

Early projects, often only days old and with small numbers, that an editor thinks are worth a closer look. They are illustrative picks, not a ranking or a prediction.

The Jev wave

A story section groups projects around one timely event. The current one, “The Jev wave”: TypeSafe's Jev launched Sept 15; open builds followed fast. These are independent open projects, not made by TypeSafe AI. BuildTube has not run or verified them.

The creator, or Hugging Face on their behalf, runs a live demo you can open without installing anything. It opens on their site, not on BuildTube.

Privacy

• No accounts and no cookies. There is nothing to sign up for, and BuildTube sets no cookies.
• Saves stay in your browser. When you save a card it is kept in this browser’s own storage on your device. We never receive it, and clearing your browser data removes it.
• The feedback form stores only what you type, plus the time and which BuildTube page you were on. Your email is optional and used only to reply to you. We don’t store your IP address or browser details with it.
• Anonymous counters. When you open a card, press “Try it now”, save a card, pick an “I want to…” filter, search, or open the feedback form, the site adds one to a daily tally for that card or filter. There is no cookie or ID, nothing ties the tallies to you, and the words you search for are never sent. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.
• The live counter at the top of the page (“here now” and total views) works from a random ID that each open tab makes in memory and forgets when you close or reload it, with no cookies and no IP address stored. The total includes views counted before tracking moved to Cloudflare.
• Pictures load from their creators’ hosts. Screenshots and profile pictures come straight from GitHub and Hugging Face, so those services see an ordinary request from your browser, as they would on their own sites.
• Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles the connection like any web host.
